The Manchester Neighbourhood Care Groups Association brings together seven Neighbourhood Care Groups working together as a partnership. The Care Groups are always eager to find new partners and volunteers in order to increase efficiency, have resources and good practise, and augment sustainability for each independent group. Each Care Group has its own independent Management Committee and a paid part-time Co-ordinator. The main funding for the Manchester Neighbourhood Care Groups Association comes from Manchester City Council.

The services to older people in the seven care group areas are provided through the individual Neighbourhood Care Groups by volunteers. The Care Groups promote valuing older people and provide opportunities for isolated people to meet others and be a part of society. The neighbourhood Care Groups provide a series of volunteering opportunities for people in the community which we firmly believe benefits the volunteers as much as they older people they work to support.
